Building Community.

Transforming pain into purpose through healing-centered programming, survivor support, youth empowerment, and community wellness initiatives.

The Marcus Jackson Project honors the life of Marcus Jackson by transforming pain into purpose through healing-centered programming, survivor support, youth empowerment, and community wellness initiatives that strengthen children, families, and communities.

June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month

This month, we honor the lives impacted by gun violence, uplift survivors, and continue advocating for healing, prevention, awareness, and safer communities. Together, we remember, support, educate, and work toward positive change.

The MJP Ecosystem of Supports

It is our belief that the various systems within our communities influence the well-being, development, safety, and overall outcomes of youth and families. From the home and community level to schools, faith organizations, social services, law enforcement, and the judicial system, each layer plays a critical role in shaping individual experiences and community wellness.

At the center of this ecosystem are youth and families — the foundation of healthy and thriving communities. Surrounding them are systems designed to provide guidance, support, accountability, education, protection, healing, and opportunity. When these systems operate in isolation or fail to work collaboratively, gaps in support can negatively impact individuals, families, and communities. However, when systems communicate, collaborate, and work toward a common goal, they strengthen one another and create pathways for healing, stability, growth, and positive change.

This illustration emphasizes the importance of collective responsibility, community collaboration, and healing-centered approaches. By encouraging partnerships between schools, faith-based organizations, community agencies, social services, juvenile justice, law enforcement, and other institutions, we aim to build stronger systems that better support youth, families, and communities impacted by trauma, violence, and adversity.

This model reflects the belief that lasting change happens when communities work together — not separately — to create environments where individuals and families feel supported, empowered, safe, and connected.
